A lover of all things design, after receiving her degree in Art History from UC Berkeley in 2008, Shelby Kass explored various creative ventures from graphic design to prop styling and retail merchandising before moving to New York City. Once there she got to know the design world as a Merchandise Manager for a soft goods company with worldwide distribution. After years of working with designers and vendors on the merchant side, she realized her true passion was on the other side of the industry and set out on the path of Interior Design. A California native, Shelby moved back to Los Angeles in 2015 where she took classes at UCLA School of Interior Design and interned at a world-renowned residential design firm where she quickly moved up the ranks as a designer working on projects both local and abroad. Her next stop was as a Junior Designer at another high end residential firm where she honed her skills as a project manager and forged strong relationships with top vendors around the world. With formal training at more traditional design firms, Shelby uses time-honored design principles and an appreciation of quality craftsmanship as the back-bone for all her work. Her design aesthetic is heavily influenced by the bright and airy laid back vibe of Los Angeles with hints of an edgier street style informed by her years in New York City.
